Lerato is entered in Race 5 for Thursday May 22nd. She drew a nice post position (#3) in the Fillies & Mares Non-Winners of $4,701 In Last 4 Starts. In this race, only the lady horses can race and only if they have earned less than $4,701 in their last four races. This race also has an optional claiming price of $10,000 (plus allowances). Don't fret though, Lerato is not in to be claimed and will be staying in the Detgen/Summer Fling Racing Stable.

Dylan the Great was scratched sick by his trainer due to a cough he developed after warming up. While this was a VERY tough decision for his people, it was the right call and we are always SO proud when trainers make the tough calls and choose to do what's best for the horse. Due to the rules here at Running Aces, he will have to wait 10 days to race again. We look forward to seeing him back on the track in a couple weeks!

Cut a Rug had the tough luck of drawing post 8 this week, meaning he started on the far outside and had extra ground to cover. After avoiding a horse on a break, he settled into 7th along the rail. At the half he followed Brady Jenson and Sullenberger to the outside and began making his move. The field was a strong one, so while he wouldn’t get up for the win, Carter (his barn name) was still closing well at the wire. Last night was a promising effort- and if in future weeks he can draw a better position, he and driver Aaron Lehman could finish even better! Check out QKS Racing's Facebook page to see some behind the scenes pictures and videos from before and after Cut a Rug's first race of the 2025 meet!
