Entries & Results - June 17th Update

Lerato N is racing Thursday June 19th. Race 10 post position 2. Another great post position draw for Lerato N!

Dylan the Great raced in the Open Trot once again, which is made up of the best trotters at Running Aces. He got away third and was then shuffled back to fourth. By the second turn, an outer flow had developed, and Dylan was locked in. Around the three-quarter mark, the horse to the outside of Dylan made a break. Dylan kept his cool and continued trotting. In the homestretch, everyone trotted hard to the wire, but Dylan was right there with them, and his trainer was extremely happy with him. Dylan picked up a 5th place check and we look forward to bigger and better things in the future from him! 

Cut A Rug (Carter)'s driver, Mooney Svendsen, ducked him to the back at the start of the race, rather than battle for upfront position, which could be seen as using unnecessary energy. The horses on the front posted speedy fractions. Around the 2nd turn, Mooney pulled Cut A Rug to the outside, and while passing horses, managed to flush out cover (meaning another horse came out in front of him, which cuts down on wind resistance and energy expenditure). He was sitting third at the three quarters and then cleared in the stretch and paced hard to the wire. The race went in an impressive 1:52.1, and Cut A Rug nabbed second, securing a solid check, and pacing in 1:53.0!
