Lerato N- left sharply off the gate tonight , but with several other mares gunning for the lead, she settled into fifth on the rail around the first turn. Three rivals waged an intense battle for the front, clicking off snappy fractions of :26.4 to the quarter and :55.1 to the half . As the mare to her outside began to tire, forcing others to move around her, Lerato held her ground along the pylons, patiently waiting for room in the stretch. The pace never let up in this blistering mile of 1:52.1, and Lerato charged home to finish fourth—pacing her own mile in an impressive 1:53.1! She raced super tonight!
Dylan the Great-In Race 7, it’s all eyes on Dylan in the prestigious Steve Wiseman Memorial. Dylan will start from post position 5—a solid mid-gate draw that gives him plenty of options when the gate folds. Dylan will need to bring his A-game for this race as it always draws a competitive field. This race honors the memory of one of Minnesota harness racing’s most beloved figures, Steve "The Magician" Wiseman. Steve was an exceptional driver, fantastic trainer, and beloved friend. Since his passing in 2021, we have held this memorial race in his honor and to bring attention to colon cancer.
Cut A Rug (Carter)'s - will be competing in Race 6, leaving from post position 2. This week, he’ll have Mooney in the bike, and the pairing is looking sharp. Cut A Rug is returning to Running Aces after a successful trip to Ironwood last weekend, where he picked up a win and a 3rd-place finish—including one of the fastest miles of the day. With his recent momentum and a favorable inside draw, he’s set up nicely for another big effort.
