Racing Ripper - Racing Ripper is not entered for the upcoming week. Be sure to check our Summer Fling updates for his next race and post position.

An update from the Roland Barn:

Ripper has been dealing with a few issues that we haven’t been able to fully sort out yet. During his week off last week, he was scheduled to train on Thursday, but poor air quality in Minnesota prevented us from getting that work in. While he may simply need a bit more fitness, we wanted to rule out any underlying issues.

On Tuesday night our track veterinarian performed an endoscopic exam of his airway, which revealed that Ripper is battling an illness. He also wasn’t feeling his best this morning. Since his race this week was moved to Sunday, leaving only five days between starts, we felt it was in his best interest to skip this one.

We’ve drawn blood for a more comprehensive evaluation and will follow our veterinarian’s recommendations to get him back to full health. If all goes well, we’re hopeful he’ll be back racing the following Tuesday.
